Component Tape and Reel Services

We prepare components for all types of auto-insertion onto printed circuit board assemblies. We offer tape and reel services for both SMD (surface mount device) and leaded (axial and radial) components in conformance with EIA standards.

Surface Mount Devices

We support SOIC, SOJ, PLCC, TSOP and BGA packages with daily capacities of 50,000-200,000 pieces based upon component type.

Axial and Radial Devices

We support axial /radial transistors, capacitors, resistors and diodes, with daily capacities of approximately10,000-20,000 pieces based on component type.

Bar Coding

North Shore Components supports all industry standard bar codes and label dies in conformance with EIA-566-A standards. We also offer bar coding for reels, trays, components, bags, modules and PCBs.

North Shore Components integrates bar coding and kitting services involving trays or bags. Please let us know your specific requirements, and we will develop a customized solution that ideally suits your needs.

Packaging

North Shore Components seeks to deliver measurable costs savings whenever possible. We accomplish this by consolidating shipments from multiple suppliers and by labeling both the outside packing and packing list with all relevant information, including bar codes.

We also offer dry packing for reels, tubes and trays, a process that involves vacuum-sealing components inside a moisture barrier bag, which helps prevent sensitive devices from being damaged by excessive humidity.

Dry packing enables components to have a moisture-free shelf life of approximately 1-2 years, depending upon factors such as environmental conditions within the storage area.

Component Programming

North Shore Components offers programming services for thousands of programmable devices, including semiconductors. Packages we support include PLD, GAL, PAL, Flash, EPROM and EEPROM. Our daily programming capacity varies based upon individual programming cycles.

Kitting

North Shore Components offers comprehensive kitting services that enable you to save valuable time in identifying components, which also reduces excess material.

Solderability Testing

  • available for tin/lead and lead-free components
  • For Lead-free, the standard test flux is 0.5 % activation. For tin-lead, the standard test flux is 0.2 % activation. These fluxes meet all current Mil standards as well as IPC/industrial standards.
